Upon graduating from Penn State University, School of Visual Arts, Lynn began her career working for a small design studio in Wilmington, Delaware. Soon after, she moved to the Washington, DC area and took a position with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as assistant art director. Here she also managed and increased advertising sales for the association’s monthly magazine. She initiated member research and developed and marketed the association’s first media kit. From there, Lynn moved on to art director at the Society of American Foresters in Bethesda, MD. Here she designed the monthly magazine in addition to working with the communications department on conference materials and membership campaigns. She helped launch the association’s premiere tabloid newspaper and their first website. SAF also began publishing hard cover books under Lynn’s art directorship. Lynn was later offered a position as senior graphic designer with Glenn Maurer Graphics in Kensington, MD. She designed Web sites, conference displays and collateral for many associations and labor unions. In 1998 she started Lynn Riley Design. Since then her resume has evolved to include art director for several magazines including Washington Life, The Postmasters’ Gazette, Wildlife Professional and American Gas which won the 2008 Apex Award of Excellence in the “Most Improved Magazine & Journal” category. Her primary skills are in the design and production of magazines, brochures, conference materials, and books. Lynn bands with a network of creative professionals to offer website development, CD-ROM publishing, editorial services, and conference branding as some of its specialties. Lynn is a
member of the Society of National Association Publications (SNAP). |
